Rural drainage and Water Management

Boggy tracks, washed-out gravel, erosion and standing water can all point to a drainage problem. Repairing the visible damage without dealing with the water can leave the same problem to return.

Deal with the water path first

More gravel or a quick grade may tidy a surface, but it will not correct water moving through the wrong place. The fall, drainage path and outlet need to be considered before the repair is built.

Every site is different

The right approach depends on the slope, soil, existing drains, catchment and where the water can safely go. The work needs to be assessed on the property rather than copied from another job.

common questions

  • It can be. Water running along the driveway or sitting on the surface can take material with it and weaken the base. The site needs to be checked before the repair is decided.

  • It depends on where the water is coming from, the available outlet, the ground and access. Jake can assess the site and discuss what is practical.

  • Yes. We can install table drains, spoon drains, cut-off drains and culverts where needed to move water away from driveways and access tracks.

  • Yes. We can create level tank pads and install tanks around your sheds and home. We can also add to existing tanks if you are looking to increase your rainwater capture.
