Machinery and operator hire

Hiring a machine is one thing. Knowing how to use it efficiently and getting the job finished properly is another.

Rolla Constructions supplies the machinery and the operator together for site works, clearing and general excavation. You do not need to organise dry hire, learn the controls or give up your own time trying to complete work that is outside your usual day-to-day experience.

Why hire a machine with an operator?

Dry hire (just the machinery) can look like the cheaper option at first, but you are still responsible for operating the machine, planning the work and returning the equipment within the hire period.

If the work takes longer than expected, the machine can spend more time sitting idle while the hire costs continue. Mistakes with levels, access or the order of the work can also mean having to go back over the same area twice.

With Rolla Constructions, the labour is already included. The machine arrives with someone to operate it, so the work can get underway without you having to learn as you go.

You get one person responsible for the machinery and the work, with the job completed to the agreed scope and timeframe.

Working to your timeframe

Some site work needs to be completed before a builder, delivery truck or another contractor arrives.

Let us know about any deadlines when you first get in touch. We will be clear about availability, what preparation is required and what can reasonably be completed within the time available.

That means you can plan the next stage of the job without being left with an unfinished site or machinery sitting unused.

  • You do not need to choose the machine yourself

  • You do not need to know the exact machine size or attachment required before you call

Just send through a description of the work, the property location and a few photos of the site if you have them. Access, ground conditions and the amount of material being moved will all affect what is suitable. We will tell you whether the job is a good fit and what information is needed before work begins.

  • No, our machinery hire service includes the operator. It is intended for people who want the equipment and the labour taken care of together, rather than hiring a machine and operating it themselves.

  • Yes we can. Let us know the required date when you enquire. We will confirm our availability and be upfront about what can realistically be completed within that timeframe.

  • You do not need to work that out before calling. Tell us what you want the finished site to look like, where the property is and what access is available. Photos are helpful. We can then discuss whether the job suits the machinery available.

  • A brief description of the work, the property location, your preferred timeframe and a few photos of the site will give us a useful starting point.
